"खरमास"

"फिर नये साल का आगम है
नये साल पर, नये प्रणों का,
नयी प्रतिज्ञा ले लेने का
चलता रहा चलन है।

किंतु बीतता साल सदा
क्यों ये कहता जाता है,
प्रण कितने भी जोश में लेलो
निरर्थक रह जाता है!!!

साल बीतते जाते है
प्रण पर प्रण चढ़ते जाते है,
दुविधाग्रस्त होता है मन
क्यों अधूरे रह जाते है प्रण !!!

कहे कवि प्रियदर्शी
प्रण तब पूरा हो पायेगा,
(जब) शुभ मुहूर्त में शुभ मन से
शुभ प्रण को उठाया जायेगा।

प्रण पूरा न हों पाने से
क्यों होते हो उदास
जब प्रण उठाने को तुमने
चुना था "खरमास"-जब प्रण उठाने को तुमने चुना था "खरमास"।।"

(New Year Resolution is most common agenda at the time of dawn of new year. Similarly, Regret for unfulfilled resolution is also very common at the end of the year. In our Sanatan Culture, Period from 15th December to 15th January is usually termed as "खरमास" which is not considered as sacred or good for initiating new things. This Poem is experiment of humour by mergeing Roman Calender event with Sanatan Principles.😊)

Budhha: Some thoughts on his Sculpture at Sanchi

Depicting the Enlightenment of Budhha in a statue must be a sense of accomplishment for the sculptor. Compassion n Blissfulness n Calmness..... Budhha has inter-alia taught "रसो वै स:"( रस वहीं है जहां सत्य है), "सो करोही दीपमत्तनो" (द्वीप बनो अर्थात सब संबंधों से मुक्त हो जाओ और असंग हो जाओ), "छंदजातो अनक्खातो" (जिसे कहा नहीं जा सकता). This statue of Budhha is settled in #Sanchi showcasing these virtuous teaching of Budhha. This is the Only Statue of Budhha with a face at Sanchi Stupa. Everlasting calmness on the face and posture, even after facing a brutal ordeal. I am unable to ascertain the level of idiotic, barbaric and inhumane mind set of people who assaulted the statue and of the thought process which paved the way for such assault.
