Politics Revolving around the Calendar issued by The Centre for Women’s Development Studies’ 2018

It is really good efforts of CWDS whereby it is trying to draw attention on remarkable work done by leading ladies of Indian History.

But the statement made by Manjari Mehta, GrandDaughter of Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, while sharing her view on concept of Liberty and Non-discrimination is new low to the intellectual wing of elite society of India. The referred statement is as under:-
Quote
“These principles are under threat today. This is a moment so frightening in the life of our country, the moment when this powerful document is being lost.”
Unquote

Further concluding remark made in the Article is grossly unjustified which has been deliberately made to char global image of India. That remark is as under:-
Quote
“At a time when women still do not have the right to marry of their own free will, those pushing for removing caste barriers are being laughed at and the killing of Muslims in broad daylight has somehow become acceptable, the constitution is something that we must speak of and value now more than ever."
Unquote

It is to be learnt that all stages/platforms are not meant for gaining political mileage and/or criticising Govt Administration. Secondly carving an event which is meant to highlight the contributions and role of the women who helped draft the constitution of free India and circumventing it as an event to showcase some grey areas already under criticism of Society is not at all justifiable.

Salute to those women who contributed to the rich history despite their diverse trajectories in their individual livies. But we should not forget to condemn people behind this malice hit narration of the event.
