Justice Delivery System under Scanner: Aadhar Judgement

In the Linked Article, Usha Ramnathan while discussing issues pertaing to AADHAR in the light of recent Supreme Court Judgement inter-alia narrated:-

This is why it is no wonder that the failure rate in authentication has been very high. The judgment of the majority has found a success rate of over 99.7 per cent, and that has convinced the judges that biometrics is unfailing. Justice Chandrachud, in his dissent, cites the Economic Survey of 2016-17 which found biometric failure rates among the beneficiaries to be 49 per cent in Jharkhand and 37 per cent in Rajasthan. This was in the materials placed before the court by the petitioners."

It is matter of concern that in this 4:1 judgement, Hon'ble Judges are having difference of opinion which is some-how based upon inter-alia FACTUAL DATA which is supposed to be sourced from Govt itself.

The judgment of the majority has found a success rate of over 99.7 per cent, and that has convinced the judges that biometrics is unfailing. Justice Chandrachud, in his dissent, cites the Economic Survey of 2016-17 which found biometric failure rates among the beneficiaries to be 49 per cent in Jharkhand and 37 per cent in Rajasthan.

Difference of opinion in interpretation of law, sensing intetion etc seems genuine and could be appreciated.

But when some landmark judgement is showing different opinions of Hon'bles which is based upon earmarked altoegther different Data, then it is high time to put not only Justice but Justice Delivery System itself under scanner.

Budhha: Some thoughts on his Sculpture at Sanchi

Depicting the Enlightenment of Budhha in a statue must be a sense of accomplishment for the sculptor. Compassion n Blissfulness n Calmness..... Budhha has inter-alia taught "रसो वै स:"( रस वहीं है जहां सत्य है), "सो करोही दीपमत्तनो" (द्वीप बनो अर्थात सब संबंधों से मुक्त हो जाओ और असंग हो जाओ), "छंदजातो अनक्खातो" (जिसे कहा नहीं जा सकता). This statue of Budhha is settled in #Sanchi showcasing these virtuous teaching of Budhha. This is the Only Statue of Budhha with a face at Sanchi Stupa. Everlasting calmness on the face and posture, even after facing a brutal ordeal. I am unable to ascertain the level of idiotic, barbaric and inhumane mind set of people who assaulted the statue and of the thought process which paved the way for such assault.
